Evelyn, Anton and I flew to Seoul just for a long weekend. It was no trip planned in advance, but it was a rather spontaneous decision to grab an opportunity to catch cherry blossom.
As it would be our first time there, we had pre-booked a guided tour to visit famous places with plenty of cherry trees. But when we landed late at night, we got a message that the tour was canceled due to “unfavourable or unsafe weather conditions”. It was too late to book any other tour, so we decided to explore the city on our own.
There is a library located just between the two very famous royal palaces that is known for having cherry trees on site, so we headed there (how we almost took a wrong bus, is another story :)). I thought that we would be able to cut the walking through one of the palaces, but when we reached it, it turned out that we are in a middle of a brick wall :).
So, after a solid healthy walk we have reached our goal. Funny that as there is one blooming tree at the entrance, many people head there first to secure nice pictures. And therefore, there is a queue :). But we went past it and found what we were looking for 🙂
