Today we went to a mandarins farm. They claim that thy also have lemons, but we didn’t find them (the orchard is huge and it seems that the lemons grow at its far end).
It’s about 80 km from Sydney (Laughtondale) and it was pouring rain when we were leaving and the forecast was showing pretty much the same at the destination, however it was though grey but dry there. The rubber boots remained in the car 😉
One of the farm rules states: “Each adult must have a bucket when entering the orchid”. It means you buy a 12,50$ bucket for an adult and 6,50$ for a child and use those buckets to collect fruit. Literally, a guy is monitoring the entrance and no-one can sneak in with their own bags or boxes. When leaving, you return the empty buckets and your picked fruit is not getting weighted. All you could squeeze into your buckets is yours to take home.
