Our last stop was off shore. We passed through a few straights near the shore and watched beautiful fiords (“sounds”) from the ship.

We reached the Dusky Sound by 8am.

It was quite fresh in the morning, thanks to the winds blowing from Antarctica. If my memory is still good, the temperature was hardly above +15C and it rained hard for some time. But the beauties called, so after breakfast we took our positions on the balcony.

The landscapes say it all, I cannot add much. Just watch…

The Doubtful Sound. Reached by 11am. Still fresh but a bit warmer. No more rain but still huge clouds hanging low. The cruise director tried to joke saying that he had doubts we would be able to see the sound. But the wild nature was probably in a good mood and showed itself well off. And no signs of people anywhere…

The farewell stop was in Milford Sound. We reached it by 2pm or so.

The weather got better, the skies cleared almost completely, the sun was shining bright, making the mountains and waterfalls even more gorgeous than we could expect. This place is obviously more touristic as boats were scurrying around the waterfalls.

It was the time to say goodbye to New Zealand 🇳🇿 but not yet to our holidays. We still had ta sail for 2 days before we reached Sydney.
