This weekend Australia celebrates the Queen’s birthday. Ok, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was born on the 21st of April (and there is no public holiday for this occasion in the U.K., as my British colleague told me), but somehow this country chose to celebrate it on the 2nd Monday of June. Anyway, having a long weekend is a good opportunity to open some new horizons 😉
Wollongong is a sea-side city, about 80 km from Sydney, not big, but has got a few aces in the sleeve. It resembles Knokke, I would say. There is a harbour with a lighthouse, restaurants and a playground.

One of the landmarks that makes Wollongong different from other coastal cities is the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere: Nan Tien Temple (Southern Heaven Temple).
