Our apartment is located in the central business district, at a busy street, 2 km from the office. We expected to see a dizzy street with lots of traffic and shiny office buildings. What we found is the road works for which I didn’t bother to spend my camera roll ;-). Well, they are “building Tomorrow’s Sydney”, so the cause is good: there will be a light rail in the near future.Â
We arrived at night, but the street was still alive: people were walking around and having drinks in cafes. In the dark we couldn’t identify the neighborhood’s image; we knew that we were not far from the Darling Harbor, thus apart from the road works, it should be quite pretty in the daytime here.
Next morning we went out to search for breakfast and found ourselves in the middle of…. Chinatown. Of course, where else ;-).
But then again, what were we supposed to find just a few steps away from our home? Come on, dear reader, you can guess 😉
Later on we realised that Belgian chocolate is very popular here. We found one more Guylian cafe at the Darling Harbor and they mention Belgian chocolate all around: in toppings, coffees, shakes etc.
McDonald’s is beautifully designed and serves fine patisserie next to regular stuff.
